The affordable housing lottery has launched for Grace’s Place Senior Apartments, a nine-story residential building at 13–04 Nameoke Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by NTD Engineering Consultant LLC and developed by Brisa Builders, the structure yields 57 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 56 units for residents at 50 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $0 to $64,800.

Plans are underway for a new residential building in Far Rockaway that will provide a total of 92 affordable housing units to some of the city’s most vulnerable populations and other local residents upon completion.

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Brisa Builders Corp. Chairperson/CEO Ericka Keller appeared before Community Board 14 to present the plan for the planned 65,000-gross-square-foot building, which will be located at 19-19 Cornaga Ave. For this development, Brisa Builders Corp. is working with the city and receiving funding from the state with a 9% tax credit allocation.

At today’s groundbreaking for the Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School in the South Bronx, all eyes will be on the school’s namesake, a legendary player known as Earl the Pearl, as well as NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and other hoops dignitaries.

An affordable housing lottery has started for 165 truly affordable apartments in an under-construction Brownsville building, with one-bedroom units starting at $484 per month.

The lottery is for the third and final building in the 100 percent affordable Ebenezer Plaza complex, developed in a partnership between Ebenezer Urban Ministries Center (formerly the Church of God of East Flatbush) and a group of other affordable housing developers.
